István Lepsényi

President, Hungarian Hydrogen Technology Association

He graduated from the Budapest University of Technology as an economic engineer and obtained a mechanical engineering diploma from the St. Petersburg University of Technology. He was the technical director of the IKARUS Body and Vehicle factory, the CEO of the president of AUTOKONSZERN Rt., for four years after its establishment, he was the CEO of Magyar Suzuki Rt., and then the managing director of Knorr-Bremse Fekrendzerek Kft. Between 2015-2018, he was the State Secretary responsible for economic development and regulation at the Ministry of National Economy, then as CEO of VALOR HUNGARIAE Zrt. he supported the reception, mentoring, and market access of Hungarian innovations. He received the Dénes Széchenyi Gábor Award, the Officer's Cross, and the Middle Cross of the Order of Merit of the Hungarian Republic. Honorary Vocational Teacher, Honorary Citizen of the Budapest University of Technology. Member of the Hungarian Economic Society and the Hungarian Academy of Engineers, academic member of the International Academy of Quality (IAQ), president of the Research and Technological Innovation Council, honorary president of the National Association of Managers.
On his initiative, the Hungarian Hydrogen Technology Platform was established in 2020, which was transformed into an Association in 2021. He is currently the president of the Hungarian Hydrogen Technology Association, the purpose of which is to provide the professional framework for industrial, economic and scientific cooperation necessary for the development of the Hungarian hydrogen economy, to create an organized cooperation between actors interested in the Hungarian market, and through all this to help the creation and strengthening of the domestic hydrogen sector.
