Since October 2022 Matthias Greiml has been working in the Green Gas Technology department of RAG Austria AG as project manager. In his role, he manages the European reference project EUH2STARS (European Underground Hydrogen SToRage Reference Reference System), with the aim of developing underground hydrogen storage in porous in porous rocks towards market maturity. The other area of activity of activity includes energy system related matters and the certification of renewable gases.
Before joining at RAG, Matthias Greiml completed his doctorate at the Montanuniversität Leoben in the field of energy network technology, where he worked in the area of modelling and simulation of multi-energy systems, analysing the effects of renewable energies expansion on the energy infrastructure, including possible countermeasures.
Before studying at the University of Leoben, Matthias Greiml worked as a service and commissioning engineer for heat treatment facilities worldwide.
